Configurable Control – Powerful Control without Programming

TouchLink Control Systems, just like MediaLink control systems, are configured not programmed. This makes them easier and less costly to support, and can be deployed faster than traditional programmed systems. With programmable control systems you are dependent on a skilled programmer to create, test, debug, troubleshoot, maintain and support proprietary code for your control system. Anyone who has configured our MediaLink control systems will immediately feel comfortable deploying a TouchLink control system. In this topic you will gain an understanding of the differences and benefits to configuring vs programming. You will also gain knowledge as to when to use one type of system over the other.

Configuration Software – Global Configurator and GUI Configurator

With Global Configurator, you will learn how easy it is to configure a wide range of Extron IP Link-enabled products to control your A/V system. The intuitive design environment of GUI Configurator provides a broad array of modification tools for maximum flexibility and ease of modifying our customisable TouchLink touchpanel templates. This topic will wrap up with a discussion on the Free GlobalViewer application, a Web-based asset management and remote monitoring system. Through Free GlobalViewer and GlobalViewer Enterprise you will gain additional skills in creating e-mail notifications, enhanced monitoring and scheduling, and other support and configuration features designed to help you maximize the value and potential of IP Link technology on an enterprise level.

Real Hands-on Exercises
Right from the beginning you will use the Extron Configuration software packages. The instructor led hands-on lessons allow you to apply your cumulative knowledge of Global Configurator and GUI Configurator to work in tandem with Extron IP-enabled products. You will gain valuable experience working in real-world scenarios using the software and hardware to configure inputs, relays, and other critical functions that harness the power of control.
